Juicing Habit

According to my observations, around 98% of the population wants to be slim and 90% of them hates exercising. Well I'm one of them and I always resort to crash diets when I want to weight down. Previously tried the master cleanse. Its really effective but seriously, it drives me crazy. So what I did is look for an alternate and here we go with juicing. And hey, its in today with all the juice bars popping-up. The weight loss may be slower than the master cleanse but you know that the method is more healthier. I just think of it as chugging down a lot of fruits and veggies that you don't want to eat. And promise the juice tastes good.

So I was inspired by Joe Cross' documentary Fat Sick And Nearly Dead and the next day after I got my Breville juicer. Investing on a good juicer is really beneficial long term. I just put the whole apples and cucumbers on the chute unlike in the others you have to slice them to smaller pieces first.

I'm a very busy person doing two jobs in a day so I do juicing in bulk. What I do usually lasts for 3-4 days. I started doing this last November and I make sure I juice 3 days per week. I do this for weight maintenance. I eat all I want to eat like a monster then juice after.

I use pechay, brocolli, carrots, cucumber, and apples on my juice. But recently I have updated my recipe. I removed the apples because I've discovered that it has a lot of sugar. Replaced it with cabbage so now its a all veggie juice. With this, you can lose around 2 lbs on a 3 day cycle.

This is a 5 liter jug so I make around 3.5 liters of juice.



And here is the finish product. I drink 4-6 glasses of juice a day. In juice bars, you spend around Php 1300 - 2500 / day for a whole set of juice. But do you know how much damage it cost me for my 3-4 day juice clease? Spent only Php 410 for this. 


I hope you have already eaten before seeing this photo. This is me after my 2 weeks juicing a month ago. From 74kg, I now weight (drum rolls please) 69kg. My goal is to go back to my original slim weight of 65kg.


Juicing is a great way to lose those flabby sides and man-boobs. Haha. Its affordable and its healthy.

Mission Accomplished

My detox is done! Wuut! I reduced the 10-day lemonade diet to 8 and I still did the 3-day easing-out phase. I lost 4kgs in the process. Its like the last time but I feel more thinner now. And I'm seeing some ribs (wala na makain lol). Will try to not eat rice anymore to maintain my weight. Will also do more exercises to be more fit. Actually jogged earlier this morning.

Here's what I had during the easing out. Oh its only just the juice photos. I really like the broccoli juice. My officemates also like it. I also had the mushroom soup from KFC whenever I feel hungry but my favorite is the pumpkin soup from Little Asia. Also had grapes on my last day of easing-out.

Slowly But Surely

Easing-out after the lemonade diet can be considered as one of the most important phase of the master cleanse. Its like preparing your body to slowly go back to eating normal food. Eating immediately after the lemonade diet will make you feel constipated and nauseated. The weight losed can also come back if you skipped on this one. For me, I just got excited to have reached the ease-out stage because it indicates that I'm already near the finish line.

On the first day, two liters of pure orange juice should be consumed. Its not enough for me so I had three.

Day 2 is soup day. Really hated this day because I didn't like the clam chowder. The minestrone saved the day though.

On the last day, I can finally splurge on fruits and veggies. I can't explain the happiness when I was eating the corn. Sarap na sarap talaga ako. Haha.

The Master Cleanse Experience


Remember my 10-day challenge? Finally done with it and I'm very much pleased with the end result therefore concluding my master cleanse a success. So from 68kg, I'm now at 64kg after 10 days of doing the lemonade diet and 3 days of easing-out (will post about it on a separate entry). Wish I could have done a better documentation of this momentous (for me) event.

I always bring this container of lemon extract at work. This jar is equivalent to 4 lemons.

For those who will be doing this too, its better to buy a big bottle of maple syrup instead of the small ones. One bottle lasts for 3-4 days.

Drinking just this for 10 straight days. Remember the recipe: 250ml purified water, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons grade b organic maple syrup, 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.

Of course after this, I will be going back to healthy eating. At least now I know what I'll do when I become a fat bastard again. Planning to do this again this coming holy week. 10-Day Challenge

Gonna do this diet plan called the Master Cleanse because I've noticed that some of my pants don't fit anymore. Booohoo! All I can intake for 10 straight days is fresh lemonade with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Started today and I still can't believe that I made it through the day with only 8 glasses of liquid. Oh well, if I don't lose weight, I'll just delete this post. Haha. Right now, I'm 68kg. Let's see what will happen in the coming days.
